BE ALL SMALL


As in the majority of the islands forming the Society Archepelago, MAUPITI is the central mountainous island, an ancient volcano, surrounded by a barrier reef, within which is a lagoon and smaller isles called «motus». The very light colour of the lagoon is due to the feeble depths and the sandy bottoms.

Life in the lagoon, where the madrepores build coral marvels ceaslessly, is a fragile world that we do our best to treat with respect.

For example, at the KURIRI: :

• Electrical energy is provided by solar panels, silent and clean,
• The water supply is natural ground water that we preserve from pollution,
• Limited use of manufactured goods, plastics, etc,
• Our preference goes to local produce, supplies of fresh fish, fruit and vegetables.
