At the outskirts of the Society Archepelago, 350 kms west of Tahiti, MAUPITI, a tiny island enchants the vistor by its authenticity, beautiful scenery and its pure turquoise lagoon.

On Tiapa'a motu*, close to the pass and facing the Pacific Ocean, the KURIRI benefits from an exceptional site with its mini lagoon, bordered by a pretty beach and a spectacular view of the ocean pounding the coral reef. On the horizon, the mythical outline of Bora-Bora can be seen and sometimes also Tahaa and Raiatea.

Four traditionally built «Fares» or bungalows, each one different, are hidden away in a large, pleasantly shaded garden. The structures are of local wood and interlaced bamboo, ideal for a good insulation from the heat. The tropical wooden furniture creates a calm atmosphere. No luxury here but simplicity which leaves place for nature while preserving comfort and intimacy.
